Hello everyone, are there still people out and about on Livejournal? You may have noticed it a bit quiet around here of late, but after the band announced that they were stopping doing gigs it seemed right to leave things to rest.

However, following the last gig in the UK I felt the need for a post in here. So here goes Read more...Collapse )

In case there are people in here who aren't on twitter and facebook, there is news about the new baby Lloyd.

Its a girl!!!

"Lily Christina Lloyd, Born 4th June 2012 at 5.18pm weighing 7lb 13oz. Beautiful"

I'm sure everyone joins me in sending congratulations to Gareth and Gemma.

I also send special congratulations to Gemma as after all she did all the hard work :)

We should celebrate next time we are all together.

PS, I know that this is slightly off topic for this comm, but as the band posted about it I figured why not!

So yes I know that this news came out last night but I figured we should report on it now we've got the whole picture.

Anyone that has missed it the boys have announcing that Anthony Clark (the guitarist) is leaving the band to pursue other projects. I'm sure that everyone will join me in wishing him well with his future projects and will continue to support him with this.

It has now been announced that in order to take things forward the remaining three are going to use creativity to keep playing the new album at gigs as they didn't feel that replacement was an option. So Rhys is going to put his own spin on the guitar parts and they are going to use a pre-recorded bass track. So be not afraid, they are going to continue.

I'm sure this has come as a shock to a lot of people but together we can keep going and bring the seven rages of man to the masses. It will keep rocking on but will just look a little different :)

This week has been really quite exciting from the Gillespie camp, there was the album launch, more gigs have been announced and the new album is getting lots of reviews. So I'm going to attempt to summarise it all into 1 post. But please comment if you would like to share stories about the album launch or just tell us about the new album.

Blue Gillespie

With the impending release of their much anticipated concept album, ‘Seven Rages Of Man’ – Blue Gillespie frontman Gareth David-Lloyd gave Meghan Player an insight into the idea behind the album, and the stories throughout.

"It had to be huge, but I knew if anyone was capable of translating such massive subject matter into music without losing its scale, it was the three musicians I know fondly as ‘the boys’."

Right everyone, there was a gig on friday night. I'd like to invite anyone who was there to comment on the gig and share happy memories with those would couldn't be there.

I was lucky enough to make it. We had a great time and got to see 4 awesome bands, I even liked 3/4 which was really nice. The venue was really nice too with lots of space for rocking out and really good hold music between the sets. We also got a chance of a sneeky peek at the new album tracks. I think I'd have liked to have heard some of the tracks I knew because its hard to dance to stuff you don't know but all in all it was a good gig.

Only 3 weeks till the album launch now. Who is excited? :)

From Blue Gillespie's Facebook Page

"Hello everyone, Gareth here. When and only when we sell 45 tickets for our gig tomorrow those 45 people will be entered into a draw. The prize will Ianto's green Jacket from Countrycide (The exact one I wore in the episode). I LOVE this jacket and it has a huge deal of sentimental value for me and I have on occasion said that I would never ever sell or auction it. So someone will be very lucky. This is how much I care about this gig! There are about 15 more tickets to be sold to reach the 45 mark. I know it can be done.

There will also be 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th prizes including signed limited edition prints and the odd Ianto accessory.

Anyone who has a ticket regardless of where or when they bought them will be entered. As long as 45 are sold."
